I make it a practice to invite people to connect with me for further info about a product or opportunity. There is something to be said for being social. shoving information down my throat or giving it to me with out your personal follow through person to person will get you nothing from me & neither should it. Only from people I know and trust. Even then, if they haven't talked to me for a long time, then they come to me with a link, I let them know I don't like it, if they insist, I delete the connection

Depends.. If I have a close relationship to the user then yes. But if they are new and just spamming me, then no and they usually get deleted.
